Part-Time Forging with ARDOR
« on: January 09, 2018, 12:20:18 am »

Hello,
I installed the full-client 2.0.10 on my computer and enabled forging on the mainnet (yes, I'm on the good fork). When I'm not on my computer, it goes to sleep mode most of the time.
Am I wasting my time keeping the service forging part-time on my machine?

I don't want to make it for money but to participate securing the network. I used PeerExplorer to check the nodes but I cannot find my IP address in the list.
Thank you for clarifying all this.

Whether or not you forge any blocks depends on how much ARDR you have.

If your display turns off, that is OK.  But if you computer is going to sleep, then you aren't forging during that time.
