Changelly exchange failure
« on: February 16, 2020, 01:49:28 pm »

Because IGNIS doesn't trade at any other exchange I'm at, I used the Ardor platform's exchange functionality to exchange IGNIS to BTC at Changelly over a week ago. IGNIS were transferred successfully to Changelly's account but BTC did not arrive at the wallet I gave. Is that a general scam? I guess my "wealth" is lost. I should had known better and traded IGNIS into ARDR first and then trade those at a better place.

Open a support ticket at Changelly's webpage
https://support.changelly.com/support/tickets/new
and give them the Transaction ID and all other details of that transaction, so that they can have a look at what went wrong.

Did that. Apparently support does not know about the Ardor platform's Exchange tool, they wanted to know some Changelly  account history, which of course I don't have. All I could provide was some screenshots with the transaction from within the Ardor platform. Changelly now wants to know the Changelly transaction ID, which of course I don't have because I used the Ardor platform's Exchange tool. So where do I find that ID? The Ardor platform must have created some. Also, how did it submit the BTC withdrawal wallet address?

Re: Changelly exchange scamming?

You should be able to find the changelly transaction id if you login to the wallet from which you submitted the exchange and look at the transaction entry in the "My Exchanges" table.
This entry is stored in your browser local storage so use the same browser wallet address you used before.
If you can't find it, tell them all exchanges from the Ardor wallet are using by default the API key 77c34bb4f2bc40519df33a474097936f which should help them track the transaction.
If this still doesn't help yet let us know and we can try more advanced methods.

The entry in the "My Exchanges" list was already gone after the next login to the wallet. I gave them the API key, hope it helps.
I changed the subject of this thread from scamming to failure...

So finally after another 2 weeks that was resolved, but only after I reminded them again. It seems the Ardor/Changelly API wasn't working as it should, on whatever end that might had failed. Taking longer than 2-3 days to fix the trade is unacceptable. I also had to accept a worse exchange rate and of course BTC is much lower than it was 3 weeks ago. This sucks. I'll never trade with Changelly again.
