Ardor Software Releases / Re: Ardor v2.2.1
« on: January 07, 2019, 01:07:20 am »
Last night, I tried to install 2.2.1 on my computer. Now, I'm unable to start my wallet and keep receiving the following message: "Can't run the JVM". I was fully synchronized with the network before attempting the update (my wallet dated from two months ago). I run the full wallet, not the light one on Windows 10, 64 bits. I'm unable to uninstall the wallet since the uninstaller keep telling me that I cannot run the JVM...

Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

P.S Under Windows - Uninstall Programs, I can see 2 wallet versions now...

I can't reproduce this "Can't run the JVM" message. Are you invoking ardor.exe or run.bat?
Are you installing the Windows installation or the zip file?

Can you invoke the runtime from the command line and post the exact error message text either as image or text?
Also please type at the command line:
Code: [Select]
java -versionand
Code: [Select]
where javaAnd post here the results.

Post here the results?

Two other guys had the same problem on BitcoinTalk and have been able to solve the problem with the information posted here.

Hello, I have been able to fix my problem on my laptop this morning after a good night of sleep. I renamed the Program Files\Ardor directory for Program Files\Ardor Old and re-installed everything from the Windows Installer. It works now. I now have 3 entries under the Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features but it does not seem to be a problem.

I think I have an idea where it went wrong.
3 days ago, I updated my Ardor wallet on my desktop computer. During this installation, I have been notified that a previous version was installed on my computer and this version will be removed before installing 2.2.1. I have 2 entries under  Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features but the upgrade worked. On my laptop, I did not receive a warning even though a previous version was installed and went ahead with the installation anyway. I'm also sure the server was not running before installing the software. I was unable to start my wallet after the upgrade. Basically, I would say that the Windows Installer did not detect my previous wallet on my laptop and the overwrite with 2.2.1 did not work as expected.

The launch was from the Windows shortcut pointing to Ardor.exe. Like I said before, it was directly from the Windows Installer. Unfortunately, I deleted the old directory and emptied the Recycle Bin once the problem has been solved (so, it's impossible to retrieve the java version from my old wallet).

Next time, I will make sure to uninstall the Ardor wallet before installing a new version over it.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I hope Ardor will have a bright future.

As a workaround, install the full client, it worked for me. The blockchain is small, so it will not make a big difference.

PSA- "Janus balances on C-CEX.com"

Hi, Janus community and speculators,

As everyone knows, Janus tokens were swapped from NXT blockchain to Ardor blockchain, which constituted an immediate deactivation of the $JNS token on the NXT blockchain. See here the official announcement of Jelurida: https://www.jelurida.com/snapshot-instructions.

We expected in a normal way that the respective external exchanges such C-CEX.com, upgrade their wallet and at the same time, they would support the new Ardor Platform, where the real Janus tokens are right now.

After a long conversation, mainly with the owner of C-CEX.com, they decided not to upgrade to Ardor wallet. We explained that position affects Janus users since with the current JNS NXT version you can not send/receive/withdraw unless they perform the upgrade.

Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a resolution we can reach with C-CEX.com and the way they handled deposits was, not ideal.

According to their wallet, roughly 200k $JNS tokens are on C-CEX.com:

https://nxtportal.org/accounts/14891815879764517044

After a meeting with the whole Janus Project core team, we decided that the best solution and move forward would be to OFFER the coverage of all 200k $JNS on C-CEX.com for users.

That being said, if you´re one of the users affected or you have a friend who has $JNS tokens on C-CEX.comas well, please email us at bjorn@janustoken.com or private message us on slack https://ardornxt.slack.com ( email is better) and provide as much unaltered info as possible like screenshots and we will hopefully get everyone affected taken care of.

We do have ways of checking for altered photos, so please don't ruin this for the next user, let's make it easy and good for all.

Thanks, everyone. Stay tuned!

Yours in business,

-The Janusproject Team

I admire the way you solved this problem. C-CEX is not an exchange that I can recommend. They stole some of my coins a while ago with the same trick they tried to use with you. When requesting for help, a robot answers you with the same bullshit over and over...

Nxt Helpdesk / Re: Moving ARDR from NXT Client to ARDR Client
« on: January 13, 2018, 08:00:32 pm »
Well, I figured it out.  Was not aware address was the same just switch NXT to ARDR with the rest of the account address the same.  Was using the wrong ARDR account.

OK, well done!

Nxt Helpdesk / Re: Moving ARDR from NXT Client to ARDR Client
« on: January 13, 2018, 07:57:37 pm »
I have the majority of my ARDR in my NXT desktop client.  If I click "Transfer Asset" the Recipient field defaults to asking for a NXT- account.  How would I transfer them to my Ardor Client when the account starts ARDOR-?

Or I am I doing it wrong? Thx

You cannot access your ARDR from the NXT client since the end of December. You need to install the ARDR client wallet now and you will get back all your ARDR. If you had NXT in your NXT client, your IGNIS will also be available in your ARDR wallet (0.5 IGNIS for each NXT).

8
thank you all!!!,i download the  NXT CLIENT,and i can see it all。
finally,i wonder where can i exchange the nxt to the other coin, such as btc or eth?

You need to register on an exchange that support NXT. Be careful with the one you pick, some will require that you provide IDs, some are not reliable (don't use C-CEX for instance) and never leave a lot of coins on an exchange.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/nxt/#markets

Make sure there is no minimum to withdraw your btc or eth from the exchange. Check the btc fees to withdraw your money.

You may also want to make a deal with someone here. Do at your own risks!

Install the full node version. The blockchain is so small, it will not do any difference.

Ardor General Discussion / Part-Time Forging with ARDOR
« on: January 09, 2018, 12:20:18 am »
Hello,
I installed the full-client 2.0.10 on my computer and enabled forging on the mainnet (yes, I'm on the good fork). When I'm not on my computer, it goes to sleep mode most of the time.
Am I wasting my time keeping the service forging part-time on my machine?

I don't want to make it for money but to participate securing the network. I used PeerExplorer to check the nodes but I cannot find my IP address in the list.
Thank you for clarifying all this.

Wow, nice work my friend!
Do you accept ARDR or IGNIS as tip? This community should support initiatives like that with small contributions to the owner.

I understand why they need to do it but I'm just not sure I trust them to keep the info safe  ;). In any case, I checked the list of currencies that Poloniex and they have ARDR but not IGNIS (which is really the one I'm looking for).

Once you got some ARDR within the Ardor wallet, you will be able to use the built-in exchange to get IGNIS...I'm lucky, I still have a legacy account on Poloniex without providing any information  :D
Poloniex will freez all the unconfirmed accounts on end of the 1st quarter of 2018

Yep, I know...This is why I think the ARDOR built-in exchange is a good idea! I registered on Binance last week and it worked well so far without IDs. No ARDR there but I bought SONM on this exchange.

So someone sent me 2 ardor and it doesn't seem to be the problem.  I've tried to send the 4 ingis back to the person and the same thing happens.  The green box pops up says "ingis sent"  but balance remains same and not log in the ledger.  Tried to send to the exchange and the same thing.  I'm connected. Everything looks good.  I have peers.  Guess I'm going to uninstall/reinstall this lite client and install the full node and try that as my last resort.   Because something is obviously wrong with this installation.

Install the full node, your problem will be solved right away.  ;D

Trading & Exchanges / Re: Inreasonable rate between IGNIS and ARDOR
« on: January 02, 2018, 09:46:28 pm »
1) What you see on coinmarketcap is the average of some exchanges...which are frozen right now!
2) HitBTC resumed trading ARDR and it is around $3.30.
3) $13 for IGNIS is problably insane. It's not the real token, it is IGNIS [future].
4) According to the integrated ARDOR exchange within the wallet, 1 ARDOR for 2 IGNIS is the average exchange rate for now.

For your information, the average exchange rate is 1 ARDR for 2 IGNIS right now. You can see this from the Ardor wallet on the integrated exchange.

Introduce Yourself / Hello from Canada!

Hello everybody,
I discovered ARDOR/IGNIS 3 weeks ago and I really like your platform. This is my biggest play in the crypto space because I think it could make good competition to Ethereum on the long term. My other investments are Litecoin, Ethereum, Dash, Golem, Sonm and Bitcoin Cash. I'm happy to join your community and help out if I can.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: NRS Client Ignis
« on: January 02, 2018, 07:50:16 pm »

I downloaded Ardor wallet today .It opened instantly and my ignis in my account.
I see this message on dashboard
Warning!: Your account does not have a public key! This means it's not as protected as other accounts. You must make an outgoing transaction to fix this issue. (Set account info, send a message, buy an alias, send coin, ...)
How do I secure my account?

Send one ARDOR to yourself. I don't know if sending one IGNIS to yourself will do the trick...
Yes, it will, and it will be cheaper too. Any transaction that needs your secret phrase will do. (Forging and a few other things need your secret phrase but aren't transactions.)

Thanks, I was not aware of that. Got my first IGNIS during the night, my order got filled!  ;D
